"body_md": "Cook Inlet Housing Authority plans to break ground this summer on 72 senior apartment units in the Airport Heights neighborhood of Anchorage, taking advantage of looser zoning laws the city recently approved.\n\nThe project is designed specifically for seniors, adding housing for older Anchorage residents who want to stay in the city. The site sits near DeBarr Road, close to medical services, shopping, and bus routes.\n\nUnits will include a mix of layouts. The goal is to provide stable, accessible homes in a neighborhood already connected to the services seniors rely on.\n\nThe development comes as Anchorage continues to face a housing shortage across multiple age groups. Adding senior units can also free up other homes in the market as residents downsize and transition into age-friendly housing.\n\nCity officials have pointed to projects like this as the intended result of the recent zoning law changes, which loosened restrictions to open up more housing options citywide.",
