"body_md": "Fairbanks North Star Borough Assembly approved property tax breaks aimed at jumpstarting new apartment construction, as more than 1,000 military service members and families prepare to arrive at Fort Wainwright and Eielson Air Force Base.\n\nMost of the incentives target multi family projects near the two military installations, where housing is already tight. Developers who qualify would see reduced property taxes for a set period, lowering the risk of building now.\n\nFor renters, the move could mean more housing supply instead of another year of bidding wars. For homeowners, it is meant to help stabilize prices before pressure from the incoming arrivals pushes them higher.\n\nThe timing matters because the military transfers are already scheduled, regardless of whether housing is ready. Fairbanks officials are trying to get ahead of the wave rather than respond to it later.",
