"body_md": "Homer City Council has adopted the city's 2045 Comprehensive Plan after nearly two years of meetings and community workshops, according to Homer News. The plan centers on housing, workforce development and long-term growth for the coastal community.\n\nThe plan calls for more affordable housing options, updated zoning rules and room for mixed neighborhoods aimed at young families. City leaders say the goal is to stop the steady outflow of residents who cannot find a place to live in Homer.\n\nZoning reforms included in the plan are meant to make building easier and faster, reducing the regulatory hurdles local developers currently face.\n\nThe plan also builds in workforce development as a long-term strategy, with a focus on construction and marine trades tied directly to Homer's local economy. City officials describe the document as reflecting feedback gathered directly from residents during the two-year planning process.",
