"body_md": "South Park Estates, a mobile home park near Arctic Boulevard and Benson Boulevard in Midtown Anchorage, is slated for demolition after owner Shaun Debenham of Debenham LLC announced plans to clear the site and build 150 units of market rate rented townhomes. Debenham purchased the property in 2005 with redevelopment in mind.\n\nResidents of South Park Estates own their individual homes but rent the lots underneath, and the eviction timeline has left many with limited options to relocate or cover moving costs.\n\nA group of residents attended the Anchorage Assembly meeting on April 22 to ask the body to address their concerns about the timeline and compensation, with some saying they do not plan to leave.\n\nThe new townhomes are designed to be affordable, but their rents are expected to cost at least double what residents currently pay in lot rent. Debenham is offering relocation funds to families willing to move, though some residents say the offer is not enough.",
