"body_md": "H5 Construction has broken ground on a 107-room Home2 Suites by Hilton at the Shoppes at Sun Mountain in Wasilla, marking the first major national hotel chain to open in the Mat-Su Valley. The extended-stay hotel sits along the Parks Highway corridor, giving travelers and families a lodging option without driving into Anchorage.\n\nThe project brings new lodging capacity to a city that has been asking for more hotel options as growth accelerates. For local restaurants and retailers, more overnight visitors mean steadier business throughout the year.\n\nCrews are targeting a late-summer 2026 opening, a timeline that lines up with several other commercial developments rising along the same corridor as Wasilla's growth continues.\n\nThe hotel's arrival signals Wasilla's shift from a commuter town to a regional hub, with the hospitality market now catching up to that growth. The project is seen locally as another sign that big-city amenities are reaching the Valley.",
