Corrections

We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we fix it in the open — we do not quietly edit a story and move on.

A corrected story carries a note at the bottom saying what was wrong, what it now says, and when it was changed.

To request a correction, use the corrections address on our Contact page and include the headline, the statement you believe is inaccurate and any supporting source. We read every message.

Our standard

We aim to correct material errors within 24 hours after we verify them. Material corrections are noted on the story and logged here; routine spelling, punctuation and formatting fixes that do not change the meaning may be made silently.

Corrections log

The log lists the date, the story and what changed. There are no logged corrections yet.
