Senior housing coming to Northway
A new senior housing development is planned for Northway Business Park in Anchorage.
Daily Alaska staff · March 16, 2026 · Anchorage
A new senior housing project is planned for Northway Business Park in Anchorage. The development will bring a large residential building designed specifically for older residents who want independent living with nearby services.
The site sits in an established commercial district, close to shopping, medical offices, and major roads. That location makes it easier for residents to stay connected to daily services without needing to travel far.
Developers say the project is aimed at meeting growing demand as Alaska's population continues to age. Many older residents are looking for smaller homes that are easier to maintain.
Adding senior housing can also open up existing homes across the city. When older homeowners downsize, more family sized houses can return to the market.
Construction planning is moving forward as Anchorage continues searching for ways to expand housing options.
